Heads and 1.8

What I've been thinking about is WHY IN THE MIDDLE-EARTH would heads on maps be regular blocks! It's just more realistic to texture pack the cobblestone blocks for orcs or urks to actually look like a Orc or urk head! That aggravates me so much! Please texture the heads!

Also something else really small... In 1.8 they added amour stands. Can we add some amour stands in some maps to decorate it up a little? Maybe in the keep of Rohan... You could have a few lined up on the walls. You guys are awesome! Thanks!

Banners, we could use those to decorate the maps too. But they don't seem that great for using as a actual capture point

We just replaced the orc heads with actual orc heads today.

No, tim. The server is in 1.7.10, with a compatibility layer for the 1.8 client. If it were 1.8, you could use 1.8 blocks.

If the server wasn't 1.8, 1.8 players wouldn't be able to join.
Of course I know it's not the official 1.8 version, but the server IS ON 1.8 and 1.8 players CAN join.
We are also able to use most 1.8 features (new tab list, client side things, etc)

Stop being a total prick thinking you're better than everyone else.
I remember you being banned for that before not so long ago.

Tim, the new features you're able to see are CLIENT side. Tab list ? Client side. New block entities like granite ? Client side, and also doesn't need a 1.8 server at all for it to work. All the features that are client-side work, all the features that are server-side don't. That's just because the server is NOT in 1.8, period.

They work because they're on blocks that exist in 1.7.10, granite is block id 1:2, which existed before, but wasn't textured. That allowed some texturepacks like Dokucraft Creative or SMPRevival to use those unused IDs to have new blocks in the game, without having to use client-side mods for them.

I'm not being a prick, I'm just stating a fact, the server is in 1.7.10 with compatibility layer for 1.8, as stated in the post I did not 10 minutes ago. That compatibility layer is what spigot always did : let new clients connect to the old server, in order to give the server host time to update his plugins and server.

Apart from the fact that I can actually use granite, diorite and andesite, which you can't at 1.7.10.

I think I'm gonna risk my everban here, and say that what you said here was extremely stupid.

Granite ID = 1:2. In 1.8 CLIENT, it's recognized as granite. In 1.7.10 CLIENT, it's recognized as standard stone.
You can place stone with id 1:2 in 1.7.10, and when you use 1.8 client, it's shown as granite.

Gosh tim srsly.
